Georges Braque was as a major 20th-century French painter and sculptor. His most important contributions were in his alliance with Fauvism from 1905, and the role he played in the development of Cubism.
In 1946 Aimé and Marguerite Maeght founded Galerie Maeght in Paris and the art museum la Fondation Maeght in Saint-Paul de Vence. The gallery and the museum has collaborated with some of the worlds most famous artists and has a unique and impressive art collection.
